I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for being the cause of an upsurge of family togetherness we here at the Morrison household have recently experienced. However, family time for us is usually more enjoyable when one or more of us is not moaning in discomfort on the couch, or afraid to leave the bathroom for fear of not being able to get back there quickly enough.
My DD1 has now got strep and coxsackievirus (which has resulted in herpangina and high fever). Of course, coxsackievirus is VERY contagious, so my DD2 gets to share in the fun. Hers has manifested itself in herpangina, a high fever, and hemorrhagic conjunctivitis. (If your response was "ewwwww", you hit the nail on the head.) Now, this in itself might not sound that awful to you - as a single sickness doesn't really interrupt one's life for more than about a week. However, your
I am working with my children to wash their hand whenever possible. I insist that their teachers keep hand sanitizer in a handy location and mention it's use several times a day. But you know what I do that y'all don't seem to understand? I KEEP MY KIDS HOME WHEN THEY ARE SICK because I know that kids are kids - and don't wash their hands often enough if an adult isn't right there to remind them to do so. I do not let them go to school with a fever. I do not let them go to dance class when nose and eyes are running uncontrollably. I do not let them play soccer when I know the running will cause them to start coughing uncontrollably (again) in to the faces of the other players.
Please, for my sanity if nothing else, stop infecting my family. Because I? Am QUEEN of revenge...and no one is capable of spreading germs like a secretious 4 year old! (Which, as luck would have it, I happen to have!)
Consider yourselves warned.

Just for the record: wasn't my lovely urchins that infected yours...as we all know, I leave mine home even when I'm not there myself!!! giggle giggle..
Seriously, so sorry you've been sickly but then again...grateful I've not see much of you lately
!
Get Well vibes come to you from the west side of the park!
I am in no way accusing neighborhood moms. Playgroup was one of the places where I learned that if your kids are ill, you don't expose the world!
DD1 brought it home from school. It's those posh west siders send their kids to school to infect my child.
...and I meant west siders from the other side of the district, not the other side of the neighborhood!!!!!! Gaaaahhhh! Foot in Mouth Disease strikes the mom!
That's because over on the other side of the dam road, Daddy has to work (or milk his clients for another 8 hrs) while Mummy does the cabana boy...it is just too much of an inconvenience to keep the Snotties home....the nanny doesn't have a green card, much less know how to tend to the sick kid (that's what school is for, right?)
But, on this side of the dam road, it isn't necessarily that the parents are better about keeping the Sickie home but rather Daddy's too hung over to hear the alarm clock and Mommy has already left for her morning shift at the IHOP so Snotty stays home by default...
You crack me up!
Are you implying that we live on the wrong side of the tracks?
Tracks? Nah, but we do live on the "lesser" side of the dam road. But, sometimes less is preferred...as I've got friends who live "over there" and the people on this side are much more real, if you know what I mean!
You know, I'm working on a blog entry along those lines. You may have given me the inspiration needed to finish it!
ooooh jumping in last minute...because i lived other side of smoky hill, which is less then other side of dam road, but 'more' (whatever...) then this side of smoky hill and that was way too uptight and perfect for me...i fit it so much better in this pocket of very real, down to earth great sense of humor types of moms!
oh and, i have sent my kids to school sick, only because I DID NOT BELIEVE THEM....i am such a bad tater tot slingin' mommy.
Perhaps you'd be interested in babysitting my secretious 4 year old???
